The other day, I caught Little Girlie with her leg hitched up and over the crib rail, trying to climb out. Lil stinker. In light of that, we hurried up and went big girl bed shopping before she figures out how to get all the way over and falls. We ordered the bed yesterday and are now trying to figure out what we’re going to do in the rest of the room.
Her room now is pink, teal, and green with little bird accents. Guess what kind of room she wants? A purple monkey room. I was really on the fence about going with purple because it would require us to change all the decor, curtains, paint, and rug. Just as I was settled on telling her no, Jeremy got that little dimple I can’t resist and voted to do a purple room. He’s such a sucker! Girls and their daddies, I tell ya. 😉
So, purple it is! I found the perfect bedding at Home Goods a couple months ago for a steal and have had it stored in her closet. It’s soft purple with little blue accents. We love it and are using it as the base for the entire room. To give you an idea of where we’re going, here’s some inspirational photos!
This bedroom by Home by Heidi is perfection! It’s the most similar to where we are headed as far as color scheme. I have been lobbying for blue walls, but keep getting vetoed on that one. Sigh. Hopefully the photos of this room will help me win my case against a certain daddy and little girl who are dead set on purple walls. Ha!

If I lose on the blue walls, I imagine her room looking more similar to this room, just with some blue accents added in.

I mentioned in my Mixed Media Monkey Artwork post that Little Girlie not only wanted a purple room, she wanted a purple monkey room, so I’ve had my eyes peeled for monkey artwork.
I like this artwork and think I could make something in a color scheme to match her room.
Her current gallery wall is one of my favorite things in her room, but I’m going to have to change it around to help it match the new color scheme. I love the idea of doing a gallery wall using a bunch of colorful frames like these!
So, that’s where we’re headed! I’ll be sure to keep you updated as we make changes! I’m planning to paint before the bed gets delivered, but will be taking my time with the rest and doing things as our budget allows. Stay tuned! And, if you have any monkey artwork ideas, send them my way!
